Remaining with, say, an abusive partner is not “cute”. In fact, it’s the exact opposite of “cute”.
Wow, it’s as if somebody took all the posts from the suicide and eating disorder tags and put them into a blender.
Too right, person I don’t know.
Call an exorcist.
^ No, this is symbolic to depression. And by your snarky comment it is safe to assume you’ve never been clinically depressed. It eats you alive from the inside out. You sleep less some nights. Lose your energy some days. Want everyone to shut up other days. Small changes take place within you. Your thought process changes. You feel worthless, shitty, nasty, disgusting, ugly, fat, fucking horrid. It takes you over. You are no longer you. You are an empty shell of what was once you. You remind yourself to smile. You remind yourself to look happy. You stop talking because the voices are constantly in your ears just fucking yelling, It’s a demon within you, and the only way to get rid of it is killing yourself. Which isn’t always the case. You can get rid of it without hurting yourself, but when you have what feels like 25 people telling you to die, who the fuck thinks rationally? So no, you don’t call an exorcist. You hope that one day it’s over and you can finally smile again.
Well you assumed wrong, so good job. Besides, reblogging some photos about how there’s a demon inside you doesn’t accurately convey what depression is like nor does it help in any way. If anything, it idealizes the concept of depression by portraying the sufferers as tragic special snowflakes and exploiting that for notes from other tumblr users. After all, if you’re not searching for notes, what’s the point of posting a REALLY DEEP AND SYMBOLIC picture like that, which doesn’t contain anything personal relating to your depression, on a public blog? All of this contributes to the image of depressed people as manipulative attention whores, so it’s pretty damaging and it doesn’t deserve any respect.
I was going through your blog and you have a picture of Amanda Todd on here (it's the girl holding the index card that says "why am I still here?") She didn't take that picture somebody took a snapshot and posted it online, idk if anyone already told you, but I just thought you should know. You seemed a bit frustrated with the photo, but she was just sharing her life story. Sorry if this came off bitchy, I just thought I'd tell you.
Thanks for the message!
Actually, that information makes me more frustrated with the photo… if that’s how Amanda Todd legitimately felt, then that’s absolutely tragic. Depression is a really awful thing.
But whoever decides to ride off that by taking a screenshot for notes on Tumblr, they’re really not deserving of much respect.
Call an exorcist.
I love this blog and I'm going to type a wall-of-text as to why I'm on your side now. I FUCKING HATE when people will post bullshit about depression and suicide (both of which are most likely things they haven't had to deal with) to get a billion notes.Even worse, when they post pictures of their "Self-mutilation". EVEN WORSE is when they claim they're not doing it for attention. Depression is a serious fucking issue, not a con to get famous. Excuse my language.
THANK YOU! This is exactly the message we want to get across! :)
Do you think any of the teenage girls reblogging your stuff actually know you're mocking them?
Pffft, it’s unlikely. The best is when they delete the caption before reblogging.
How would you know what drowning is like? What do skulls made of flowers have to do with it? Who is ‘he’? So many questions.
